Software Freedom Day 2005




SOFTWARE FREEDOM DAY 2005 SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP ON THE USE OF FREE SOFTWARE

To celebrate the software freedom day and within the framework of promoting ICTs to improve the living standards, raise the activities to alleviate poverty that PROTEGE QV organised on the 1st and 28th of October 2005 in her head office two sensitization workshops on the use of free software

Objectives To sensitize civil society organisations and students on the opportunities offerred by the free software

Place Rond Point Express Biyemassi, at the head office of PROTEGE QV

Participants About 15 delegates of the civil society organisations and about 30 students

- The history and bases of this type of software which is used freely
- The advantages and disadvantages in using this type of software
- The techniques in acquisition of this software
- The techniques of contributions to the evolution of free software
- Examples of free software
- Presentation and demonstration of the various applications
- Manipulations by participants
